Community Garden Events

Join us in the garden as we settle into summer! UNT staff and volunteers will assist with watering, weeding, composting, mulching, fertilizing, and other garden tasks. We will also be painting rocks to use as seed markers and decoration. Wear closed-toe shoes. Suggestion to bring water, sunscreen, a hat for sun protection, and gardening gloves (not required). Located behind Legends Hall. Hosted by We Mean Green Fund.

Summer in Bloom

This summer we're spotlighting the floral beautification of campus maintained by the award-winning UNT Grounds Crew. This week we bring you the Cockscomb (Celosia) which can be found in various locations around campus including the Welcome Center and Hurley Administration Building.

Mean Green Fling Sign-Ups

Departments can now sign-up to table at Mean Green Fling, the back-to-school kickoff event hosted by Student Activities. Departments will have the opportunity to table at Mean Green Fling free of charge. This year's event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24. Spacing is limited and is assigned on a first come, first served basis. Faculty, staff, and students are also encouraged to sign up to volunteer through OrgSync.

Reminder: ERS Summer Enrollment

Summer enrollment ends July 9, 2022, so be sure to make changes to your coverages for Plan Year 2023 like adding optional insurances (dental, vision, short term and long term disability); adding dependents to your insurance; changing from Health Select of Texas to the Consumer Directed plan; removing dependents, dropping coverages you no longer need, applying for optional life insurance, etc.  Changes made will be effective September 1, 2022. Review your enrolled plan.

Reminder: Blood Drive

A blood drive with Carter BloodCare is scheduled on Thursday, July 7th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Willis Library 250H. You can make an appointment here. Walk-ups are also welcome as long as space permits. As a thank-you, donors will receive a special-edition beach towel.

Emergency Readiness

Emergency Readiness Training—a collaborative effort between the UNT Police and Emergency Management & Safety Services – is our signature preparedness training for the UNT campus community. The training covers basic response actions for emergencies. The information contained in this training is practical knowledge applicable no matter where an emergency takes place.

COGNOS Training

In this hands on training, users will learn how to read their reports, view balances, and find transactions. At the end of this training, users will be able to: Run the Department Budget Summary Report and the Department Transaction Detail Report with and without filters, Read the reports including being able to identify the order in which chartstring summaries are presented, identify deficits that need to be covered, and understand the differences between actuals, encumbrances, and pre-encumbrances, Use the drill-through features to view transaction detail, and Be able to run the detail report to excel and use excel filters to perform research.
