Communications Strategist, Division of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access

How long have you worked at UNT?

I’ve worked at UNT full-time since 2013 but I was a student worker from 2011-2013 and a KNTU DJ from 2010-2012!

What department do you work in and what does your position entail?

I am the division communications strategist for the Division of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access, which means I am the web manager and designer for the division’s website as well as the Equity & Diversity Conference website. I also manage the social media accounts for the division as well as Diversity & Inclusion and create our monthly e-newsletter (subscribe here). I also design the marketing and communication materials for the division and the conference.

What do you like about your position?

I love that every day is another opportunity to be creative and that our division’s work is centered around DEI and social justice, which are both very important to me.

What is your favorite place to eat on or near campus?

Avesta.

Tell us something about you.

When I’m not working at UNT, I am one of the steering committee members for OUTreach Denton, the local queer and trans organization, and an artist with Spiderweb Salon, an art collective that hosts performances and workshops in Denton. I have performed and published poetry and other works through Spiderweb Salon and hope to publish more work soon!
