Call for Staff Senate Nominations

The UNT Staff Senate represents the collective body of UNT staff members, reporting directly to the president of the university. The Senate serves as an advisory body to the president and the president’s cabinet and disburses information to constituents about issues, policies, and activities affecting them. Senators serve staggered two-year terms, and about half of the Senate will soon be up for reelection for the upcoming 2018-2019 academic year.

Staff Senate will have a call for nominations in February for any staff members interested in making a difference at UNT. Elections will take place in April, and each elected member's two-year term will begin in August 2018.

Now is the time to start thinking about serving: consider nominating yourself! Or, speak to colleagues you would vote for to encourage them to serve. Visit the Staff Senate’s website for more information about its work, committees and how you can get involved or contact any current senator for more information.

More than 200 families were registered to receive toys, but thanks to the generous donations from UNT more than 600 children received toys this Christmas. Staff Senate members extend their thanks to all of the volunteers and donors and special kudos to Facilities for collecting all of the boxes across campus. Check out the photos from the toy-sorting day!
