CARE Team

UNT has created a network of professionals who are committed to a caring program of identification, intervention, and response in an effort to support students, staff, and faculty and provide our community with the greatest level of protection.

The CARE Team is a collaborative interdisciplinary committee of university officials that meets regularly to provide a response to students, staff, and faculty whose behavior could be harmful to themselves or others. Members include representatives from:

  • Dean of Students
  • Counseling and Testing Services
  • UNT Police Department
  • Housing and Residence Life
  • Human Resources
  • Provost’s Office

CARE Team referrals can be submitted at https://studentaffairs.unt.edu/care-team. A crisis or emergency should be reported to the UNT Police Department by calling 911 or 940-565-3003.

The “Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act,” commonly referred to as the “Clery Act,” is a federal law that requires institutions of higher education in the United States to disclose campus security information, including crime statistics for the campus and surrounding areas.

If you have witnessed or experienced sexual harassment or discrimination at UNT, contact the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) for advice or help in filing a complaint. Anyone who is aware of a suspected violation of the policies prohibiting discrimination/harassment is obligated to notify us.  Faculty and staff should report these to their immediate supervisor and OEO.  Students should report violations to the administrative director or chair of the department in which the alleged incident occurred and to us. OEO also has a Title IX Coordinator and ADA Coordinator to ensure UNT’s compliance with specific UNT policies, such as sexual harassment and discrimination.

The UNT Police Department provides is a full-service department that provides service to the university 24/7/365. They offer a med return, exchange zone and will engrave valuables. In addition, they provide information and assistance with safety concerns. For any questions or concerns, please contact UNT PD. In an emergency, dial or text 9-1-1.

Risk Management Services' (RMS) programs provide proactive support for the strategic, operational, and financial foundation of the UNT. A safe academic environment is the top priority of the RMS department and staff members. RMS offers a variety of services, from processing incident reports to offering a vast array of trainings. Use these training opportunities to improve yourself and help the UNT campus become more resilient. 

Transportation and Parking Services | 700 N. Texas Blvd. | 940-565-2109

Transportation Services includes parking and transit solutions for the UNT campus. Campus buses are run by partners at Denton County Transportation Authority. During the fall and spring semesters, UNT runs an evening E-ride service until 2 am to get community members between two points on campus. All lots on campus require parking permits. As a UNT staff member, you can purchase an annual permit on the Transportation portal. You or your guest can also purchase daily $5 permits on this portal. Hourly parking is available by using the ParkMobile app to pay by phone in a designated lot (check the app) or in the Highland Street Garage for $2 an hour or $16 per day.
