Avesta Restaurant in the Union offers upscale yet affordable cuisine in a relaxing, casual atmosphere for UNT and the community. Their made-from-scratch, à la carte menu is created using the freshest ingredients gathered from local and regional sources.

Bruceteria is centrally located on the corner of Chestnut and Avenue C and offers a diverse selection of hot entrées as well as healthy vegan and vegetarian options. Be sure to try the rotisserie chicken or hit up the ever-popular pizza and pasta bar (even our pasta is made from scratch). Looking for a fresh gyro or Mediterranean bowl? Bruce has you covered with the Mediterranean Station. Two fresh salad bars and a dessert bar are also on-site. Bruceteria has some of the most elaborate and fun special dinners on campus, like the annual Hogwarts Christmas Dinner.

Located next to Victory Hall and in the heart of Mean Green athletic venues, Champs is especially popular among student-athletes thanks to its focus on sports nutrition. Diners can expect a rotation of fresh grilled and rotisserie specials, as well as high-protein items like the lauded smashed burger. The Fueling Station is stocked with nutritionally-charged items to further help students refuel, refresh, recharge, and rehydrate. Champs also offers fresh salad, fruits, and vegetables, as well as delicious desserts—and bread baked daily at Clark Bakery.

Eagle Landing is unlike any of the existing venues because it offers the best of both worlds -- Dining Halls and Retail Restaurants. Just like in the Dining Halls, they serve up a huge variety of chef-crafted, from-scratch recipes made with fresh, whole ingredients -- and similar to the Retail Restaurants, they offer those great recipes through a familiar, fixed menu you can count on.

With several restaurants open to serve you at Eagle Landing, you'll enjoy plentiful choices every time you visit -- all for one Meal Plan Swipe.

The UNT Food Pantry presented by Kroger is one of the best ways to serve our students, faculty, and staff experiencing food insecurity. They opened our doors in January 2015 in a small closet in the Union. They have moved four times since their early beginnings, growing and developing new ways to meet the needs of our campus members experiencing food insecurity. Current operating hours are on the website.

Donations are accepted at the Food Pantry location in Crumley Hall or The Dean of Students Office in the Union, Suite 409. To have a staff member pick up your items, contact The Dean of Students

Eagle Post | University Union, Room 112 | 940-369-8567

Located on the first floor of the University Union the Eagle Post provides complete mail services including P.O. Boxes, Stamps, Postage and Shipping Services. P.O. Boxes are free to students currently living in the Residence Halls. Boxes may be rented for $35 for 6 months or $70 for a year. Access to your P.O. Box is available during normal Union business hours.

Lost and Found

If you have lost something, check with the offices in the building where the item was lost. 

If the lost item is not there, check at the University Union Information Desk, second level, 940-565-3805.
For valuable items, such as laptops, jewelry and bicycles, contact the UNT Police Department, 940-565-3000.

Have you identified a maintenance issue or safety concern on campus? Report it to Facilities so it can be addressed! To submit a UNT Facilities Services work order request, please log in with your EUID and fill out the online form.

State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC)

The State Employee Charitable Campaign is an annual workplace giving and fundraising initiative authorized by the Texas Legislature. The campaign provides a convenient way for UNT employees to give to many of their favorite charitable organizations. The campaign runs October 1-31 and includes many fun events.

Health and Wellness

ACCESS Mentoring Program | University Union, Suite 376 | 940-565-4198

The ACCESS Mentoring Program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to connect with a member of UNT’s faculty or staff as well as a peer mentor. Faculty and staff members who have been at UNT for at least one year are encouraged to be a mentor for new students. Mentors should have knowledge of the university and its resources and be willing to assist new students as they acclimate to our campus and college life. ACCESS Mentoring invites staff representatives from every department to participate; this is an excellent opportunity for UNT students to connect with the campus outside of the classroom and enhance their learning experience. CARE Team | University Union, Suite 409 | 940-565-4373

The Campus Assessment, Response & Evaluation (CARE) Team has been established (Policy 05.002) to respond to disruptive or potentially threatening behavior and provide resources to those involved. The faculty/staff CARE Team is chaired by a UNT Campus Human Resources representative and is a collaborative, interdisciplinary committee. Members include representatives from:

  • Human Resources
  • UNT Police Department
  • Dean of Students
  • Counseling and Testing Services
  • Office of the Provost

The CARE Team meets regularly to discuss referred employee behavior that may indicate risk to the university community. Emergency CARE Team meetings also may be scheduled.

To refer a student, staff, or faculty to the CARE Team, please go to report.unt.edu. After submitting a report, a UNT staff member will reach out to the student, staff, or faculty within the next business day. A crisis or emergency should be reported to the UNT Police Department by calling 911 or 940-565-3003.

Child and Family Resource Clinic | Matthews Hall Annex | 940-565-2066

The Child and Family Resource Clinic (CFRC) is a counseling and training clinic that serves the Denton County community. The CFRC offers to counsel children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families for issues including learning, emotional, and adjustment difficulties. The CFRC's purpose is twofold: to provide professional and responsible services to clients who request them and professional, competent training for graduate students.

College Optical Express | 1800 Chestnut St., Room 101 | 940-565-7441

The College Optical Express is the first full-service optometric practice located on any college campus in the state of Texas.  Full service means that there is a full-time optometrist on staff to perform exams and an optical store to provide products such as glasses and contact lenses. College Optical Express provides a substantial discount for all UNT students, faculty, staff, alumni, and UNT affiliated family members.

The Counseling and Human Development Center offers individual child and adult, marital, family, group, and career development counseling for students and community members using a sliding fee scale.  

Employee Assistance Program

The free, confidential, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to help employees at all locations with family, legal or financial issues, substance abuse, or other stressful events. EAP programs are available to retirement-eligible employees, retirees, household members and dependents.

The Psychology Clinic at UNT serves as a supervised training facility, providing psychological services such as individual therapy, group therapy, support groups, and psychological evaluations for students and the community on a reduced-cost sliding scale.

They provide hearing tests and rehabilitation for hearing impairments. They also provide diagnosis and assistance for disorders of voice, articulation, language, and fluency.

The Pohl Recreation Center promotes a healthier lifestyle and enhances the well-being of our University employees. Whether it's group fitness, working out in the weight/fitness room, or swimming laps, Recreational Sports offers an assortment of fitness and recreational activities for you to choose which are as varied as your personal interests.

The Substance Use Resource and Education (SURE) Center promotes a campus-wide approach to eliminate the abuse of alcohol and use of illegal drugs through education, intervention, and resources.

The UNT Dental Office is staffed with an experienced team of licensed professionals who aim to provide UNT students, faculty, and staff with the most affordable, high-quality, and convenient dental care available. The UNT Dental Office also offers discounted rates for students and payment plan options.

In general, the total amount of the scholarship includes the Board Designated Tuition (excluding any Graduate Board Authorized Tuition), Differential Tuition, and Mandatory Fees assessed. The recipients must pay all Statutory Tuition (resident or non-resident), any Graduate Board Authorized Tuition, and all academic, instructional, and program fees by the designated due date each semester/session.

Safety and Security

UNT has created a network of professionals who are committed to a caring program of identification, intervention, and response in an effort to support students, staff, and faculty and provide our community with the greatest level of protection.

The CARE Team is a collaborative interdisciplinary committee of university officials that meets regularly to provide a response to students, staff, and faculty whose behavior could be harmful to themselves or others. Members include representatives from:

  • Housing and Residence Life
  • Human Resources
  • Provost's Office

The “Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act,” commonly referred to as the “Clery Act,” is a federal law that requires institutions of higher education in the United States to disclose campus security information, including crime statistics for the campus and surrounding areas.

If you have witnessed or experienced sexual harassment or discrimination at UNT, contact the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) for advice or help in filing a complaint. Anyone who is aware of a suspected violation of the policies prohibiting discrimination/harassment is obligated to notify us.  Faculty and staff should report these to their immediate supervisor and OEO.  Students should report violations to the administrative director or chair of the department in which the alleged incident occurred and to us. OEO also has a Title IX Coordinator and ADA Coordinator to ensure UNT’s compliance with specific UNT policies, such as sexual harassment and discrimination.

The UNT Police Department provides is a full-service department that provides service to the university 24/7/365. They offer a med return, exchange zone and will engrave valuables. In addition, they provide information and assistance with safety concerns. For any questions or concerns, please contact UNT PD. In an emergency, dial or text 9-1-1.

Risk Management Services' (RMS) programs provide proactive support for the strategic, operational, and financial foundation of the UNT. A safe academic environment is the top priority of the RMS department and staff members. RMS offers a variety of services, from processing incident reports to offering a vast array of trainings. Use these training opportunities to improve yourself and help the UNT campus become more resilient.

Transportation Services includes parking and transit solutions for the UNT campus. Campus buses are run by partners at Denton County Transportation Authority. During the fall and spring semesters, UNT runs an evening E-ride service until 2 am to get community members between two points on campus. All lots on campus require parking permits. As a UNT staff member, you can purchase an annual permit on the Transportation portal. You or your guest can also purchase daily $5 permits on this portal. Hourly parking is available by using the ParkMobile app to pay by phone in a designated lot (check the app) or in the Highland Street Garage for $2 an hour or $16 per day.
