Denton Black Film Festival Jan. 27-Feb. 1, 2021 #ExperienceCultureDenton Black Film Festival

The Denton Black Film Festival (DBFF) is a festival celebrating the diverse stories and culture of the black community through film, music, and art. DBFF exists to address under-representation in film and media by giving Black stories an audience and Black creatives a platform. Sharing culture and building community are the goals of DBFF. Proceeds from the annual festival fund scholarships for African-American students in Denton. This year’s festival begins on Jan. 27 and concludes on Feb. 1. OUTfits Clothing Closet is in need of cold weather gear (all sizes), casual shirts (S/M/2X+), all unused makeup, formal shirts (all sizes), casual pants/shorts (0-10/21+), hair ties/accessories and shorts of any size (specifically tennis shoes, boots, loafers, and oxfords). Please make sure all clothing is washed and smoke-free, and items have been sanitized. All donations can be brought to Union 372, Mon-Fri 8-5OUTfits Clothing Closet: Call for Donations

The OUTfits Clothing Closet at the Pride Alliance has continued to be a consistent resource for students in need of gender-affirming clothing, bras, binders and accessories, even in the midst of COVID. All washed, smoke-free and sanitized donations can be brought to the Union, Suite 372 on Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. -- 5 p.m.

HealthSelect Fitness Program

The Fitness Program is available to all HealthSelect of Texas and Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM plan participants and covered dependents ages 16 and older and offers unlimited access to a nationwide network of more than 11,500 fitness centers. During Jan. and Feb. 2021, the $19 enrollment fee is waived for all HealthSelect participants and their covered dependents. Read more about Fitness Program enrollment and benefits.

For the month of January, Well onTarget is highlighting the following preventive care and weight management programs: Achieving your Healthy Weight, Maintaining Your Healthy Weight, Nutrition for Better Health, Preventive Health: Reducing Your Risks and Enhancing Your Physical Activity. There are currently 26 digital courses that are given in interactive or educational formats.
