June Staff Senate Spotlight

Erin McKinnis

Assistant Director, Data Integrity, University Advancement

How long have you worked at UNT?

I have worked for UNT since March 2018.

What department do you work in and what does your position entail?

I work for University Advancement as the Assistant Director of Data Integrity. I am responsible for updating and maintaining the information in our database about our alumni, donors, and faculty/staff.

What do you like about your position?

I love learning something new every day about how the system works or what we can do in it. I am delighted whenever I try to figure out how to do something and it works — I get all excited and want to tell everyone I know what I figured out! My favorite system update is getting to "marry" people.

What is your favorite place to eat on or around campus?

When I went to school here, we would all go to Fera's Pasta & Pizza. It was one of the first places I wanted to go eat whenever I started working for UNT. Their bread is amazing, I just love it! When we get back on campus, I will most definitely be stopping by there.

If someone new came in and wanted to know something that no one else at UNT would know, what would you tell them?

Not really anything someone wouldn't know but I would recommend taking a tour of campus with an Eagle Ambassador (if your supervisor didn't already set that up), even if you went to school here. I clearly did not explore when I attended and found so many different places and learned new details about our university that I didn't know before.

Tell us something about you.

Anyone who truly knows me will know all about my precious baby girl, Snowball! She is our 6 year old rescued Maltese, who I love to dress up in clothes. Her closet is filled with seasonal outfits — she starts getting dressed up for Christmas right after Thanksgiving and has a new outfit every day up until New Year's Eve.
