Amy Ferman

Associate Director for Employer Development, Career Center

How long have you worked at UNT?

19 years this August.

What department do you work in and what does your position entail?

I work in the Career Center as the Associate Director for Employer Development. I work with employers who want to hire UNT students.

What do you like about your position?

Because of our office’s events and meaningful relationships with employers, we are able to present many internship and full-time job opportunities to students and alumni who may not hear about them otherwise.

What is your favorite place to eat on or near campus?

Everything sounds amazing right now due to the quarantine! I love most restaurants on or around the square. Hoochie’s and Barley and Board are a couple of my favorites.

If someone new came in and wanted to know something that no one else at UNT would know, what would you tell them?

There have been many albino squirrels in UNT’s history, at least for as long as I’ve been here. When you hear of one dying, it’s not long before another appears on campus.

Tell us something about you.

Everyone in my immediate family (including spouses) has received at least one degree from UNT, so we definitely bleed green!
