Continuity of Operations Program Manager, Risk Management Services

How long have you worked at UNT?

I just received my 15 year service recognition award this year!

What department do you work in and what does your position entail?

I work for Risk Management Services, with Emergency Management and Safety Services. I am the Continuity of Operations Program Manager for the University. My role with the Emergency Management team is heavily focused on Continuity Planning, but also entails supporting the Emergency Operations Center on campus, assisting partner departments on campus with operations, outreach, training, and event coordination.

What do you like about your position?

I’m a helper. I thrive on assisting others and providing a service. My current role affords me the opportunity to work with and assist a multitude of other departments, divisions, colleges, and schools within our University. No two days are alike. The breadth of institutional operations and knowledge that I am made aware of, and able to assist with planning for is a daunting yet rewarding task. I am fueled by all of the positive interactions I have across this campus, and consider myself lucky to be a part of the Mean Green Family!

What is your favorite place to eat on or near campus?

Any of the Dining Services facilities across campus are awesome! We are fortunate to work with and among such a great group (Shout out to Dining Services!). From the top- notch chefs making and creating fresh, healthy food to fuel us, to the friendly servers and always smiling welcomes from the folks taking our money when we come in! Champs and Mean Greens Café are a favorite and worth the trip!

If someone new came in and wanted to know something that no one else at UNT would know, what would you tell them?

Everyone knows this who sets foot onto our Mean Green campus within minutes, but this community is so open, welcoming, and willing to help in any way they can. It is refreshing, and I am missing being on campus with everyone during this pandemic.

Tell us something about you.

I’m a Dentonite. I love my city, my community. I try to cycle as much as I can, in between raising a 4 year old. I enjoy cooking and playing and working outside. Every chance we get, we escape to our local state parks to explore.
