Senior Academic Advisor, G. Brint Ryan College of Business

How long have you worked at UNT?

6 years from 1990 – 1996. Returned in December 2006 so 20 years total.

What is your department and what does your position entail?

I’m a Senior Academic Advisor in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business Undergraduate Advising Office. I supervise a team of four advisors, as well as advising students myself.

What do you like about your position?

I love my team and all the people I work with in the Ryan College of Business. We truly have a great team that cares about our students and their success.

Prior to COVID, I loved advising students, but my favorite thing was working graduation. I loved watching students walk across that graduation stage knowing I assisted them in completing their dream of earning a college degree.

Now, after COVID, I still love advising students. I miss graduation but enjoy helping students navigate this new college experience. This is as fulfilling as attending in person graduations, and students seem to really appreciate my devotion to their success.

What is your favorite place to eat on or around campus?

I’m partial to Mr. Chopstix. I love their stir-fried Green Beans.

Tell us something about yourself!

I’ve been married to my husband for 23 years this Dec. We have 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 3 dogs, and 3 Jeeps. I love the beach and the mountains and driving a jeep to either!
