Business Process Analyst, Continuous Improvement Team

How long have you worked at UNT?

I have worked at UNT for 3 years.

What is your department and what does your position entail?

I am a Business Process Analyst on the Continuous Improvement Team. The Continuous Improvement Team is an internal group at the University of North Texas focused on increasing organizational efficiency across academic and administrative units.

I define the processes, identify bottlenecks and envision a future state. We use collaboration between cross-functional teams in order to implement improvements that result in greater operational efficiency.  Everyone is so busy it can be hard to make process improvement a priority, but it is incredibly satisfying when we can speed up a process or improve the quality to give everyone back some time or produce a better product that we can be proud of as an institution.

What do you like about your position?

I like partnering with different groups on campus. Whether it is Facilities Estimating, Risk Management or Transportation Services, I love learning what people do and helping them evaluate processes with a different perspective. Currently, I am helping the Contact Tracing team with case investigation and contact tracing. It is hard talking to sick people every day, but one “thank you” makes all the difference.

What is your favorite place to eat on or around campus?

It’s always nice to step away from my desk and eat at Avesta with my team. The food is delicious, the service is great and I always learn something new about my co-workers.

Tell us something about yourself!

I was born in Houston but only recently moved back to Texas in 2014!
