Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
The Multicultural Center is excited to partner with the Center for Leadership and Service and the Office of Outreach for our 3rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Jan. 18 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Join the UNT community for this opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s work and how we all have a role in the continual pursuit of social justice! They are also excited to engage with some prominent community and social justice leaders. Registration is still open!
“Ask Me Anything” Series
The next “Ask Me Anything” series for UNT World faculty and staff will continue on Jan. 21 at 2:30 p.m. UNT System Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Office, Dan Tenney will be hosting this session about Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology and other relevant topics. Other panelists include Sheraine Gilliam-Holmes, UNT System Vice Chancellor for Organizational Effectiveness and Chief Human Capital Officer, Chris McCoy, UNT System Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer, and Chuck Fox, UNT Health Science Center Vice President for Finance and Planning. Work- related questions may be sent to communications@untsystem.edu in advance of the virtual event. Questions will be also taken live during the event via the chat function of our livestream.
The event will be webcast live at UNTSystem.edu/JanuaryAMA and archive video of the discussion will remain available at the same link once the event has concluded.
Open Enrollment Training
The Division of Institutional Equity and Diversity added more open enrollment training for all UNT Denton employees for January and February. The available sessions are for Bias Awareness and Perceptions and Microaggressions and Inclusive Language. Learn more about these offerings and register now through UNT Bridge.
2021 Equity & Diversity Conference
The Division of Institutional Equity & Diversity is partnering with the North Texas Community College Consortium to deliver the annual Equity & Diversity Conference Presented by Hilti entirely through Zoom on Feb. 23. This year's keynote speaker is Jeff Chang, who has written extensively on the intersection of race, art and civil rights, and the socio-political forces that guided the hip-hop generation. Workshop topics range from bias awareness to self-care to workplace climate. Limited free registration is available for UNT World employees and students. If you didn't catch the Dec. 15 UNT World town hall featuring Chancellor Roe, President Smatresk and the other UNT System presidents as they reflected on our 2020 accomplishments and looked ahead to 2021, it is available online.
UNT Motorist Assistance
UNT Motorist Assistance is available to assist faculty, staff and students with car issues including running out of gas, low tire air and dead car batteries. For assistance during university business hours, contact Transportation Services at 940-565-3020. For after-hours assistance, contact the UNT Police Department at 940-565-3000.
COVID-19 Testing
Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to get a COVID-19 test before returning to campus or as soon as possible after returning. To register for testing being administered daily by WellHealth at the Union Circle Garage, visit gogettested.com and follow the “Book Now" link on the map's Denton location (labeled "Denton – UNT Union Circle Garage – Texas Emergency Management"). Include the group code "UNT" so positive test results can be sent directly to UNT's COVID response team. The WellHealth testing, available with no individual out-of-pocket cost, is offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays, except for holidays.
County Vaccination Information and Registration
COVID-19 vaccines are now being made available and individual counties are organizing and administering the vaccination process. Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counites have provided information about vaccine eligibility, locations and registration.
