July Staff Senate Spotlight

Kristi Klusman

Administrative Coordinator for the Kristin Farmer Autism Center (KFAC).

How long have you worked at UNT?

I was hired in November of 2014 in a newly created position of Intake Coordinator/Administrative Specialist.

What department do you work in and what does your position entail?

As the Administrative Coordinator for the Kristin Farmer Autism Center (KFAC) I serve on the executive team, lead the administrative staff, coordinate new client intake, manage building and asset needs, and provide budgetary guidance and support.

What do you like about your position?

The people I am privileged to work with, both staff and clients, are the number one reason I love coming to work – I can truly say ‘I have a best friend at work’.  I am also grateful for the encouragement to grow and succeed in new opportunities presented at the KFAC.  The friends, fast-pace, and unique days ensure it is never a boring place to spend your workday!

What is your favorite place to eat on or near campus?

I discovered Boca 31, on S. Bell Ave, a few years ago and get over there for their delicious Latin street food as often as possible.  It is delicious!!

Tell us something about you.

Today (July 21, 2021) I’m celebrating my 26th wedding anniversary to the most supportive and perfectly matched partner I could ask for!  During the pandemic we moved into a house on the lake so when our family of 7 children + significant others + 7 grandchildren get together there, it is loud and busy and fun!  I’ll also soon complete my long sought-after Integrative Studies undergraduate degree at UNT and am looking forward to celebrating the achievement by taking an adventure filled vacation.
