Mindfulness 101
Staff Senate Presents: Mindfulness 101 in Union 382 – Wednesday, March 16th 11-11:45 a.m. and 1-1:45 p.m.

The Big Event
The BIG Event is a nationally recognized day of service celebrated by the UNT community. Each spring, volunteers contribute over 10,000 hours of service in over 7 cities in Denton County. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and student organizations are all welcome to participate.
The Big Event is Saturday, April 9th, 2022, from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. Volunteering takes place from 9am-12pm and a post event will follow with food, music and activities! Volunteers will meet at the Library Mall for registration, breakfast, t-shirts and a kick-off celebration then leave to volunteer throughout the UNT and broader community. After volunteering, come back to join us at the block party in the library mall to celebrate your hard work 12:30pm to 2pm!

Safety Coordinator Training
The Safety Coordinator Program exists to help ensure that there are people in every campus building who know what actions to take during an emergency and who can assist those around them. Safety Coordinators are full-time faculty or staff who have received training to assist their fellow building occupants during an emergency. Our next training will be held March 16th from 1-2:30 p.m. at the BLB, Room 075.
Reminder: Recovery Ally Training
The RISE Center will be hosting a Recovery Ally Training on March 24th from 12-2 p.m. This is open to all students, staff, and faculty interested in learning more about how to better support someone in recovery from a mental health or substance use concern. We Care We Count Kickoff Breakfast
Help University Advancement kick off their annual faculty and staff giving campaign at a free come-and-go breakfast, complete with Willy Wonka-style fun, food and foolishness! Donation opportunities and WCWC T-shirt pickup will be available. Save the date for Wednesday, April 6 from 7:30-10 a.m. at the Jade Ballroom, University Union 333.
UNT Space Survey active through April 15
The annual Space Survey gives UNT an accurate account of how classrooms, research areas and building spaces are used. UNT is required by state and federal law to maintain and report this information, as it helps secure federal research reimbursements and is used in determining state funding. Each department has a designee who must fill out the space survey by April 15. More information and resources are available on the Space Planning and Management website.
Construction Update
The Chestnut St/North TX Blvd intersection is expected to be fully closed Wednesday (3/16) through Friday (3/18) for installation of a manhole. Crews anticipate to open the intersection at the end of the day on Friday.
Work to rebuild Discovery Park's perimeter road has commenced. Access to the north parking lots will be closed. Road will open on Monday, 3/21. Access to lots 91 & 92 on the south side of Discovery Park will remain open.
