Staff Appreciation Month

A big thank you to all UNT staff who visited last week for Drop in for a... Break at Hurley and Discovery Park. The attendance was phenomenal and we’re thrilled to have run through our entire stock!

Drop in Time Change

To better accommodate this fantastic response, we have moved the main campus location from Hurley to the Union to expand our offerings for the Drop in for a…Treat program during Spring Break and the Drop in for a… Smorgasbord program at the end of the month. This location change has necessitated some time changes. You can view this revised schedule on the Staff Senate website and below:

Drop in for a…Treat will be in:

  • Union 382 on 3/18 from 11am-2pm.
  • Discovery Park A140 on 3/18 from 12-2pm
The 3/17 pick-up for both locations has been cancelled.

Drop in for a…Smorgasbord will be in:

  • Union 382 on 3/31 from 9am-12pm.
  • Discovery Park A140 on 3/31 from 11am-1pm
The 4/1 pick-up for both locations has been cancelled in support of University Day! Make sure to check-out all the festivities as we celebrate our beloved campus!

Build Your Own Zen Garden

The DIY Zen garden offering last week was a huge hit and we heard how interested our staff is in this fun relaxation activity! In addition to the re-stock at our final Drop in program this month, we have added TWO NEW LEARNING SESSIONS! Participants in either of these sessions, Mindfulness 101, will learn simple breathing techniques and Build Your Own Zen Garden!

Wednesday, 3/16 11:00-11:45am or 1:00-1:45pm in Union 382

Registration is required in Bridge to reserve your space and Zen garden supplies! That registration is expected to go live later this week. If you would like a notification once it is available, please submit your email using this form: https://staffsenate.unt.edu/zen-rsvp

If you cannot make one of these sessions, we will still bring back the supplies on a first-come, first serve basis at the final Drop in program on 3/31.

Transportation Services

If you are holding an event on campus and need parking spaces or transit, please be sure you learn more about hosting an event and fill out the Transportation Services Event Request Form. The form is temporarily a PDF that should be filled out and emailed to Transportation.Events@unt.edu. On Feb. 23, the previous form experienced an issue so if you had submitted a request for an event between Feb. 23 and March 1, you will need to re-submit this information. The Transportation Services events team is working on a new form, which is expected to be live in April.

Road Work at Discovery Park

During Spring Break from March 12-20, 2022, there will be no access to back parking lots --only Lot 91 and 92 by the College of Engineering entrance. Work is expected to begin this Saturday, March 12th. Transportation Services is allowing anyone who has a parking permit to use Lots 91 and 92 from March 12 to 20. Once the paving is complete, students must continue to park in their designated lots.
