UNT We Mean Green Fund

The UNT We Mean Green Fund welcomes students and employees to submit a sustainability project proposal by the October 25, 2021 deadline for a chance to receive project funding and lead a campus sustainability initiative they are passionate about bringing to UNT! Up to $100,000 total will be granted to various new projects that will launch next semester! Previous examples of student-led We Mean Green Fund projects include the UNT Community Garden, Pollinative Prairie, and Scrappy’s Storm Drain Murals. Self-Defense Class

UNT Police is offering a FREE self-defense class scheduled for October 7th from 1:15-5:15 p.m. at Pohl Rec in group exercise A. This is a hands on class and work out attire is recommended. Fall 2021 Diversity & Inclusion Training

Diversity & Inclusion has scheduled both in-person and online training for individual employees to grow their diversity, equity, and inclusion knowledge. These open enrollment trainings facilitated by our experienced staff throughout September and October cover topics like Bias Awareness and Perceptions, Microaggressions and Inclusive Language, and Interrupting Microaggressions. The World Mental Health Day Conference on 10/8 is getting closer!

Save the Date for the 2nd Annual World Mental Health Day Conference on October 8th! Programs will be offered from 9:30a-3:30p with both in-person options on the Denton main campus and virtually throughout the day. 

Make sure to check-out Keynote Speaker, Dr. Sherry Benton, who will highlight the international dilemma presented by inadequate mental health resources. Visit website for more info.

Growth Mindset and Resilience 

With an eagle eye on building a growth mindset culture as part of our strategic plan, UNT HR Organizational Development & Engagement, in partnership with the Division of Planning, is offering a live, internally led, webinar for faculty and staff: “Cultivating a Growth Mindset” at 2:30 p.m. October 13. Participants will explore their own mindsets and how to reframe responses to failure in an effort to create resilience messaging that inspires success both for themselves and for our students!
