Summer Enrollment: Time to Review your Plan

Employee Retirement System logoThe summer enrollment period is that time of year when members of the Texas Employees Group Benefits Program can enroll in or change the benefits they receive.

Want to switch to a different health care plan? You can do that during summer enrollment. Need to put more money aside for health care expenses next year? Make changes to your TexFlex account during Summer Enrollment. Can’t remember just what benefits you have? No worries, you’ll get a Personal Benefits Enrollment Statement the week before your summer enrollment phase starts.  Read More.

Get your UNT Staff and Faculty Football Season Ticket Package

Mean Green Football is offering a Faculty/Staff summer special for football season tickets through July 25, 2018. Season tickets are discounted up to 60 percent and available for $52, $92 or $100 per seat. Limited packages are available and can be purchased by calling 940-565-2527 or by emailing TicketOffice@unt.edu.

UNT Day at the North Texas Fair and Rodeo, Staff Senate Volunteer Opportunity

UNT cheerleaders at the 2017 fairStaff Senate is seeking volunteers to manage giveaways and foster Mean Green Pride at the UNT Day at the Fair on Aug. 24, 2018. Join North Texas Cheer, Athletics and Advancement in the UNT-branded tents at each of the fair’s three entrances to lead giveaways and have fun. President Neal Smatresk, North Texas Dancers and Scrappy will attend to spread Mean Green Pride throughout the evening’s activities.

Up to nine volunteer slots are available to help from 5:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the North Texas Fair and Rodeo fairgrounds, 2217 N. Carroll Blvd Denton, TX. Gates open at 6 p.m.

After working at the fair entrance, volunteers are free to enjoy the fair that features a rodeo at 7:30 p.m. and a concert headlined by UNT alumni and country music sensation Eli Young Band at 9:30 p.m. Carnival games and fair food favorites, such as corn dogs and funnel cakes, are available for purchase all night long. Wear your UNT Green and join us for non-stop fun at this amazing country music experience and rodeo! If you are interested in volunteering, contact Susan Sanders, susan.sanders@unt.edu, by July 10.

Are you interested in your friends and family joining you after you complete your volunteer shift? UNT Alumni Association also is hosting its Denton County fall family event at the fair on Aug. 24 and discounted tickets will be available. Read more.

Office of Disability AccessNew Name: Office of Disability Access

The Office of Disability Accommodation is now the Office of Disability Access!  Over the course of the summer, the office will be updating its website to reflect the name change. While the abbreviation will remain as ODA, please bear with the department as they make the necessary updates to the website and forms. To minimize confusion, the office will continue to accept forms bearing either name. Should you have any questions or concerns, please call the ODA at 940-565-4323.

Meal Plan Prices go up Sept. 1: Purchase Your Plan Now

UNT cafeteria serving lineEmployees may purchase special meal plans. The benefit to having a meal plan is value; a meal costs up to 43 percent less than the door price at our cafeterias. That's an incredible deal for made-from-scratch all-you-care-to-eat food. Meals may be purchased in increments of 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 meals, and meal plans will carry over from one semester to the next and do not expire.

Beginning Sept.1, 2018, door prices will increase to $7.95 and cash no longer will be accepted at the door. Meal plans may be purchased meal plans online, or by visiting the Dining Services Office located in Crumley Hall, Room 132. For more details visit the Dining Services website or call 940-565-2462.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation Staff Senate tableReady for some Football? Save the Date!

Mark your calendar now to attend the annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Football game and tailgate, scheduled for Sept. 8, 2018, at Apogee Stadium. Faculty and staff will be offered the chance to claim two free tickets to the Sept. 8 game and may purchase additional tickets for the low cost of $5. The UNT Staff Senate and North Texas Athletics also will be sponsoring the annual spirit contest and employee competition for the opportunity to be given the coveted UNT Spirit Helmet to enjoy and display for the 2018-19 school year. Parking Permits Now on Sale

Parking permits are now on sale for the 2018-19 academic year and permit prices remain the same as last year. All permits, faculty/staff reserved, A, and faculty/staff, F/S, permits can be renewed through the parking portal, which has more information about how and when you will receive your permit. Please log in and ensure your information is correct. Those who choose the payroll-deduction option will be charged starting with the September paycheck.

Parking lot assignments are expected to remain the same, but there will be some exciting changes in other areas. Please keep in touch this summer by checking the Transportation Services website or connect on Twitter or Facebook.
