Save your stuff. Discourage theft. Help recover stolen items. #1: Take photos of valuables, #2: Record serial numbers. Don't forget to upload photos to the cloud. Report theft: 940-565-3000Recovering Lost or Stolen Items

UNT Police created a quick guide to help recover valuables items if they are lost or stolen. This is especially important for students who are moving, as items may get misplaced. If you have a student who is moving into a residence hall or apartment, or if you want to learn more about how to keep your own valuables safe, find some tips and a video here. The number one tip is to document serial numbers, which can be done easily by taking photos of your valuables and their serial numbers. Don’t forget to upload these photos to the cloud so you can access them even without your phone. This documentation helps police track down the owner when an item is found.
