Life-threatening emergencies can happen fast and emergency responders aren’t always nearby. You may be able to save a life by taking simple actions immediately. You are the help until help arrives. Attend this training to learn the steps needed to keep someone who has experienced a traumatic injury survive until first responders arrive. The training is on August 3 from 9 a.m. 11:30 a.m. in Room 104 of the General Academic Building. Sign up today!

STOP THE BLEED training is to prepare individuals to recognize life-threatening injuries and equip them to know how to assist injured persons. Massive bleeding from any cause can result in death. STOP THE BLEED teaches individuals proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets to help keep someone alive. This training will take place on August 6 from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. in Room 060 of the Business Leadership Building. Register for the training now!

Greater Denton Arts Council: Denton Comic Art Exposition. Aug 7th, 1-5 p.m. 400 E Hickory Denton, TX. Food trucks, nerd trivia, the Denton Spider-Man. Cosplay contests, 'zine workshop, comic artist panel, video game panel and more! The flyer features pictures of villains and super heroes in purple outfits, with gold boots, belts and capes. The Denton Comic Art Exposition will be on August 7 from 1 — 5 p.m. at the Patterson-Appleton Center for the Visual Arts (400 E. Hickory St. Denton, TX 76201). This will be an event to celebrate comic art, cosplay, and graphic art. There will be food trucks, panels that discuss comic and video game art, a 'zine workshop, and more. On top of that, they will have a Cosplay contest for all to participate in. Admission to the exposition is free.

 

 

 

Parking Permit Reminder

The current 2020-2021 parking permit will expire on August 12. Purchase a new parking pass through the UNT Parking Portal.

Departments can now sign up to table at Mean Green Fling, the back-to-school kickoff event hosted by Student Activities! To welcome students back to campus, there will be more than 300 student organizations, campus departments, and off-campus sponsors at this event. Attendance is expected to reach over 8,500. UNT campus departments will have the opportunity to table at Mean Green Fling free of charge. This year's event will take place on August 18 from 5 — 7 p.m. Spacing is limited and is assigned on a first come, first served basis. Departments can sign up to table on OrgSync.

Student Activities is also looking for faculty, staff, and students to volunteer at this signature event! Volunteers are an essential part of Mean Green Fling – Student Activities cannot host an event this large without them! Sign up to volunteer on OrgSync.

Bridge Streamlining

Training at UNT is about to get easier! UNT’s Business Operations Training team is streamlining the Bridge learning management system to include UNT System, UNT, and UNT Dallas. That means you won’t have to log into different portals for training courses. Stay tuned for more information coming later this month!
